Our Stamford Store

In the autumn of 2024, we proudly opened the doors to our very first store in Stamford, Lincolnshire. This new space has become so much more than just a retail store. It serves as the heart of our operations, while also offering a beautifully curated showroom.

One of the most exciting aspects of our store is the opportunity to feature exclusive, carefully curated items that align with the ethos at the core of Ankole. Emma, our director, personally seeks out brands and artisans whose products are created with the same care and principles we uphold, focusing on women led and sustainable practices such as using upcycled, recycled, or natural materials. These items are not only handmade but often support small, rural communities around the world, just as our own work in Kampala does.

Since opening the store, we have also been able to deepen our support for artisans in Kampala. Each time Emma visits Kampala, she spends time discovering and encouraging new artisans to begin exporting their work, helping them grow sustainable businesses and reach new markets. As a result, our collection has expanded significantly and now includes a beautiful range of Ugandan-made pieces available both in-store and online.

Alongside our signature horn pieces, you’ll now find glassware, terracotta pots, and textiles. We work with a women’s group who weave cotton fabric, which they then transform into elegant napkins and table runners, as well as another women’s cooperative who hand-weave coasters and table mats.

By incorporating these like-minded artisans and brands into our store, we’ve created a truly distinctive collection. From handcrafted furniture and eye-catching sculptures to beautifully made pots, serving boards, rugs, and tableware, every piece tells a story and has been chosen with purpose. These additions not only complement our existing range but also give our customers the opportunity to discover meaningful, beautifully crafted products that reflect the values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and community.
